Vampire Diaries

It is unfair to say that the new CW show is exactly like Twilight because it isnt in a lot of ways but from what the producers have said its easy to tell its a sensitive topic. Vampire Diaries is similar and cliche by teen show popular means and that is the commonality. Basically the show is centered around a group of young attractive people experiencing romance and vampires. So its easy to just think Twilight automatically.

As a die hard True Blood fan I am not a big fan of the way the whole vampire aspect is being developed. The vampires of True Blood are pale, night dwelling, scary and violent creatures how can this be achieved on a rated T CW show? The answer is it can't. Of course focusing on young people means school which is a daytime activity. Plus they are simply appealing to their demographic how many high school girls are squeemish? CW is a younger censored channel. HBO does whatever it wants.

So what Im saying is I see why this show is popular but True Blood fans won't like it worth anything. High School girls are drawn to the forbidden sweet romance of the undead but minus the racy details. True Blood works in different ways drawing out sexual tension and showing nearly everything.

Vampire Diaries has some steamy kisses, amateur acting and stupid shots of vampires sneaking up on people (seriously same shot everytime). I prefer the dark, sexy, funny, foul mouthed, no-holds-barred True Blood. Its all about what brings out your fangs. ;)
