A Family Affair

The theme of the season premiere of CSI was obviously "Family". With the leaving of Riley Catherine felt on the spot due to supposed bad leadership. However last night on CSI no one missed a beat, it made me laugh and the technical was just the pure CSI quirk. This episode gets a 3.5 microscopes out of 4 for slight confusion but overall awesomeness.

The Characters: After nine years the story still can be fresh and this is largely due to the fact that CSI slowly unveils little details going into characters lives. There is always something new about someone on the show that answers questions and provides a million more. For example the adoption of the furry arachnid by Nick was simply adorable (you felt bad for the poor guy with his handbook and initial disgust) but there is the question Why is Nick trying to be the next bugman?

The Crime: The crime was chock full of twists and turns which was a little confusing. The death of a beautiful young actress by a collision turned the media into a feeding frenzy. It turns out the her boyfriends manager/agent organized the whole crash in a bizarre turn of framing stalker events. Even more interesting was the attempt to cover a mans death by having suit wearing mafia steal a dead body to cover an agents murderous act. Thus resulting in pure freeze frame genius.

Favorite Parts:

Wedges Scene: Whenever there is one I go completely bananas! Hodges saved Wendy from a bullit that would have no doubt mortally wounded her.
Nick Arachnid Scene: A bit of cute nicky fluff plus it grossed me out based on my fear of da creepy crawlies.
Catherine-Sara locker scene: Very genuine and loving. Go sara Catherine needed some pep in her step after an unfortunate Ecklie run in.
Hodges Apple scene: Great interaction and classic Hodges things to say.
