Dear Dreamer,
I read your comment and think I may have an idea as to who that guy was. Its good that you remembered that the dream you were having before seeing him was a scary and terrible one. This leads me to believe that the old scary weak man is a symbol of a weight on your shoulders the past problems acculmulating into the form of one man. Overall this shows your power and stubborness. After all since the man is a form of problem you have had it shows how you havent been able to come to terms or to let the problem go. So much so in fact that the poor guy who was once strong and young when he plagued your dreams and mindset, has grown tired of you! Your body and mind has weakened and aged the man rapidly. Im only talking in symbols of course because your mind created the image of the nasty soul/memory that just wouldnt go away. Conjuring up the old man was a sign, something your mind created to make it stick in your memory. Kind of a way to go bonnie message from the brain for kicking this old nasty guy (which is really an old haunting memory or problem) out of your way so you could get some sleep. Heck it even took away the memory of the bad dream too ;)

Twitter the Cause of Tanking Films?

Recently movie corporations have found something new to blame for bad news at the box office and no it isnt the lack of creativity or acting its....a social networking site. Twitter provides every average joe out there the opportunity to follow friends or celebrities people who to them lead way more interesting lives, in short facebook status type updates. Now word of mouth has been around ever since there have been movies. That is the one thing that can make or break a movies success. Twitter is basically an internet form of word of mouth the only difference is the easy access and short to the point statements. So someone who sees the movies and rushes home to their computer and types something like "OMG that movie was god awful not worth my ten bucks" and all of their followers see it that is ruining movies or so they say. However I disagree and raise an angry fist to movie corporations...if you want to earn bigger bucks with movies turn up the creativity and originality.
A few of the movies in question are Year One with Jack Black and Bruno with Sacha Baron Cohen. Believe it or not i didnt hear much negative word of mouth with Year One I did the individual thing by seeing the preview and determining that movie isnt worth my time. Which even though reviews and word of mouth play key roles in movie success people listen mostly to themselves and make their own determinations (we are a very individualized society afterall).
With Bruno which I do truly want to see everyone and I mean everyone who saw that movie said the same thing "There was too much in your face graphic nudity" Sacha Baron should know that you can make a point without doing all of that. That is the reason that Bruno didnt do as well. The corporations making these accusations are telling me that if people didnt discuss (on the internet or by mouth) movie content more people would be tricked into going to that movie. Well I guess to all the big cheeses of the movie world Im telling you to step up your game and quit making excuses for lousy or absurdly profane movies.

True Blood Review: Matters of the Soul

This episode had a little bit of everything that made True Blood popular and appealing in the first place. There was gross out gore, humor in odd places and romance just when things start getting too crazy evil.

The show left off with Luke strapped with silver and stakes exploding in the vampire nest. Most vampires made out ok and the only real thing damaged was the vamps rep. Thus leading to the firing and suicide of Godric. Much to Erics dismay we see some genuine care and even a few blood tears. That pretty much makes up for the fact that after the explosion he tricked Sookie into drinking his blood which creates a doorway to her emotions and sex dreams apparently....

Back in Bon Temps things are going just as bad if not worse. So after weeks of wild crazy parties Maryann has shaped most of the town into her army of possessed, ultra sexual, crazy ritual machines. From where the episode ended the next target of the wackjobs is Sam (who is bunking with Andy which may prove helpful) Tara seems to me like maybe Maryanns full on experimental guinea pig to something far worse than anyone else except maybe Eggs. However way to go Lafayette who not only beat Eggs up in super demon mode but grabbed a screaming crazy Tara and shoved her in a car to take her away. Hopefully Lettie-Mae and Lafayette can help but I doubt it.

Favorite Quotes: "Why you actin more peculiar than you usually are" Arlene to Terry

"Hey Im on T.V try me" Miss Flanagan Head Vamp rep on the tube

Matters of the Heart

First off its so refreshing that true blood resumes every week at the same point the previous epsiode ends. It makes keeping up that much easier. Major character addition the old young looking sheriff of the dallas nest of vamps. This vampire seems different to me, hes forgiving not savage when it comes to matters of revenge. Even after being trapped somewhere deep within the Light of Day Institute where they were no doubt planning to ceremoniously burn him at morning he remains forgiving. Really Eric who was made by Godric could learn a thing or two about being a good sheriff from the dare I say it kind and calm vampire of Dallas. Also kudos to Jason who came around from Light of Day soldier to the vamp sympathizer we all knew was in there. Even though it was only a paintball he shot the treacly gross-haired pastor it made the god rant tolerable and slightly funny. Plus I loved the biker gang looking B.A vampire group climatic entrance......just ooozed danger and dont mess with us...great stuff
Back in the town of Bon Temps things werent going so great either. So some of the people we previously saw naked dancing with the big black eyes are in jail...one for molesting....trees?! (Dont ask cause i dont know). Also two people to watch back in bon temps probably the smartest right now being as everyone has been..umm possessed? crazy? one of those for sure. Lafayette with his crazy Tarot cards...and keen sense about the men. Tara should really listen to him about Eggs who happens to kill people in his blackout sessions. Andy Bellfleur, sure hes the town drunk and based on everyones reaction he smells too...but he knows everything thats going on in detail and there is no one but we the viewer that buys it. Oh and by the way dont eat the souffle or probably anything Maryann makes back at the Sookie Stackhouse residence chances are the ingredients are a little iffy and have a great connection to...the dead....or you never know. All I am saying is ritual Maryann puts a little part from her victims into cooking and the result is what we have been seeing the black eyed orgy fest. Phew that was a lot in one episode i didnt even cover anything im sure...oh well you get the idea.
Overall Rating: 3 stars for weird factor, keeping my interest and good continuity of plot lines i dont know how the writers do that.

True Blood Keeps Bleedin Love

This weeks episode of true blood kept my interest and made me laugh. The correlation of music, cast of characters and the creep factor keep me coming back every week. For instance the small additions like the song Bleedin Love by Leona Lewis playing in the background of everyones favorite up and coming vamp/human love Jessica and Hoyts hotel scene. (Which by the way was decorated with blood scented rose petals). Plus Lafayettes attire later in the show with the well paired makeup its about time we saw the old if not fully back yet gay cook. I love how True Blood keeps the surprises and gasp moments coming every episode. Like Eric getting emotional over his makers disappearance even shedding a blood tear?! Also I really feel for Andy Bellfleur I mean the only person in Bon Temps right now who seems to know that the town has gone to an "orgy from hell" as he put it. While he has the rep of being the towns dirty ex detective drunk. Even in the mix of all of this humor seeps its way somewhere in between the violent Maryann esapades and keeping up with sookie in the Light of Day church dungeon. I speak of two coworking enemies Tara and Arlene having a heart to heart over the fact that Arlenes fears she date raped Terry Bellfleur. The moment the two of them connect is when Tara sees the utmost seriousness in Arlenes distraught face. You would have to see it to ever think it was funny. However that really is the case with anything in True Blood....you just have to see it for yourself.
This epsidode gets 3 1/2 stars out of 4 for keeping my interest without the overload.

The Unexpected Sex Symbol

The Unexpected Sex Symbol

Who knew that in the near future blood sucking parasitic pale creatures of mythology would become a sex symbol? Now pale dark and handsome is in as opposed to blond tan beach boys. Being a vampire used to mean being a feared creature of horror from Salem’s Lot (Stephen King) to Bram Stokers Dracula. Scaring people all over America with pale blood thirsty killing machines. While Vampires still have the scary aspect to them today there is also the major plot addition of forbidden sweet love. With Twilight girls all over the world dream of having the Vampire boyfriend who is the ultimate bad boy with bite. Anne Rice writer of The Vampire Chronicles added the sex appeal of the undead by breaking old stereotypes of disgustingly pale gross creatures. Making Vampires super attractive now a days is common knowledge and icing on the cake of sex appeal. Old human vampire barriers have even been broken in Alan Balls HBO show True Blood. For example biting not turning people vampire but used in foreplay instead, garlic is gross but tolerable and churches/crosses not an issue. However staying true to the old mythology you don’t want to ever go toe to toe with a vampire. All of these aspects are addressed in Pop Culture Vamps different movies, TV shows and books making millions all over the world.
As people delve into the philosophy and symbolism every vampire in pop culture is different. The many vampires in True Blood symbolize “eight years of institutionalized demonstration of pretty much any group that wasn’t on the bus with Mr. Bush” (Alan Ball, Entertainment Weekly). While Stephenie Moyer’s Twilight phenomenon reflects her Mormon values with a sexy vampire twist. Anne Rice chooses to use the vampire as a symbol of mystery and in her books she puts her own spin on unraveling that mystery. This has certainly come a long way from Bram Stokers symbol of horror in Dracula. The complexities of the race are so fascinating and sexy people can’t help but tune in every week, buy every copy of a book or flock to theaters everywhere. Plus there is a little bit of something for everyone whether you like the scariness, sexiness or symbolism to equal rights you can’t help but be interested by the undead creatures of passion and danger.
